Renneberg Hardwoods was founded in 1980 by the Renneberg family to supply high-quality hardwoods to the Midwest. Initially a small sawmill and logging operation, it expanded after a local mill closure, starting with a team of six in Menahga, Minnesota.

The first kiln, built in 1984, positioned the company as a leader in kiln-dried lumber. By 1990, with a perfected drying process and a 15-person team, the business supplied top-tier lumber to cabinet shops and furniture makers. In 1994, a dedicated Dimensions Shop was added for moulding production.

Today, with 75 skilled employees and four locations, Renneberg Hardwoods continues its commitment to superior kiln-dried lumber while supporting local and national sawmills.

At Renneberg Hardwoods, quality begins long before the first cut. Every board starts with responsibly sourced timber, selected for strength, consistency, and character. From there, our carefully monitored process—spanning harvesting, milling, and precision kiln-drying—ensures that each piece meets the highest standards of craftsmanship. This commitment to detail at every stage is what sets us apart as the Midwest’s leading hardwood producer.

Precision from the Start

We are involved at every stage, from sourcing premium logs to working with trusted sawmills. Each piece of hardwood is handled with care to ensure consistency and durability.

Expert Kiln Drying

Upon arrival at our facility, the wood undergoes a meticulous kiln drying process that lasts up to three months. We monitor moisture levels daily, ensuring every board reaches the optimal 6-8% moisture content. This prevents warping, cracking, and instability—common issues with lower-quality lumber.

Delivering Excellence

Once dried and inspected, our hardwood is expertly processed and prepared for its next life—whether as custom cabinetry, stunning hardwood flooring, or quality lumber for home construction. Every shipment is carefully packaged and loaded onto our signature red trucks for delivery.
